I came home from work to find an Annual Cicada, also called the "Dog-Day" cicada because the larva tunnels up to the surface in July and August and then "hatches" -- molting out of its bug state to this:

Summer o' Hell
And here... the dreaded carpet beetle. They have eaten half my sweaters, my pony-hair shoes, and my wool slippers. (Yeah, I had pony-hair shoes.)

Oh Super, They Come in Different Kinds!
A black carpet beetle. Not as cute as the regular variety, especially after being crushed on a piece of nicorette.
Brown marmorated stink bug
Introduced into the United States within the last decade.
Came into Allentown, PA, from Asia and now taking over!
These are usually in the curtains but this guy was hanging out on a plant in the kitchen.
