Hanging out on the stoop

I came home from work to find an Annual Cicada, also called the "Dog-Day" cicada because the larva tunnels up to the surface in July and August and then "hatches" -- molting out of its bug state to this:

That link above was not for the weak-stomached. The truth is ugly.

This is not a garden--it's my tub, asshole.

This Garden Centipede was hanging out in my tub this morning.
I think it really enjoyed when I let the water heat up for the shower...

Only Six Legs

This is a spider beetle. I've found two now--both in the bathroom sink oddly enough.

Summer o' Hell

And here... the dreaded carpet beetle. They have eaten half my sweaters, my pony-hair shoes, and my wool slippers. (Yeah, I had pony-hair shoes.)

Larva

Adult on my ceiling, leaving the apartment to go find pollen.
Looks like a gray lady bug. Looks so cute and harmless. little fucker.

Oh Super, They Come in Different Kinds!

A black carpet beetle. Not as cute as the regular variety, especially after being crushed on a piece of nicorette.

Brown marmorated stink bug

Introduced into the United States within the last decade.
Came into Allentown, PA,  from Asia and now taking over!

These
are usually in the curtains but this guy was hanging out on a plant in the kitchen.

Why Was This On My Sheets?!

A box-elder bug. They hang around box elder trees ... and my bed.
